Sometimes a perfect, glistening banana slug will stop me in my tracks. I want to slow my life to its speed. I want to know and love the ground the way its long slimy body does. I want to forever feel redwood needles beneath me.

Sometimes a sprawling Coast live oak stops me in my tracks. I wish I could forever reach in all directions without my arms getting tired. I want to host moss and endless shades of lichen and feel the warmth of symbiosis.

Sometimes the light stops me in my tracks. I want the power to illuminate entire hills and mountains. I wish I could stream through clouds and feed entire ecosystems. I want to speak ultraviolet and infrared.
